I have been wanting to so this for a while now (I ponder on things if you haven't noticed) :D
My question is simple... having a 78, I got the pull handle for the hood release that you yank horizontally from driver's side to the pass side REAL hard... under this is the another bolt-on peice of the hood.
the rhino seems to do away with the the lower bolt on peice and no room for my hood release...
Do I need to convert the hood release as well?
What have you 'CONVERTS' done? thanks
PS--- also the blinkers will then go into the lower part of the front support....mine are in the 78 grill right now... are these blinkers available?

Yes you are going to need to get the hood pieces as well. I had to get the hood pieces when puttin on mine. You think there would have been no change from 65 to 67. Are you going to get a new front valance, or what ever it is called :D . Or is there a spot where the blinkers can go on your wag? I don't remember seeing any. The best place to get the blinkers would be from someone on here. I have not seen them new anywhere. I did see the lens new but not the whole assem. Hopefully someone has done the later conversion. Doesn't Bob Barry have a rhino on his 78 chero?

Let me know if you have any specific questions. I did it to my 84 GW and I'm ready to do it my nearly finished 85 GW. I think they look pretty good.
Let me know,
Greg
I think Brent has complete blinker units available for the 76 & up rigs.

Yeah even the 66 to 67 hood latches are different. I still have to cut a relief for the hood latch in the radiator core support. I have the rhino grill sitting on the side of the house from the 66, to go in at a later date.
Was gonna swap the core support from the 66 out also but the PO cut it up with tin snips for some odd reason.

simple decent looking use of the round holes... cut a 6-1/2" round piece of metal and center drill that at 4-1/2" so you can use a standard type 40 truck lite. check out the pics in my sig link there are a couple towards the bottom you can see the light conversion. the cool thing is, they are available in LED, very bright, sealed watertight, and lifetime warranty. I've got the 4" LED stop/tail/turn in the rear already. My wife tells me she expects an airplane to land on us at night from the bright rear lights.

Hey Todd, let me know if you need the turnsignal assemblies. I have the ones I removed from my 79 J-10 when I converted to round headlights and a grill like yours.

Yep. I have the housings and if I look around the garage I may find the bulb sockets.

That rhino front looks really good.
Aside from looking in bone yards, where else may I be able to find the proper items??

Hey RB you also could go to the interior release like the later modles. I didn't have to change a thing on my hood. Good luck! pretty soon this is going to be the International Rhino Grill Association ( IRGA )
