Ohhhh myyyy.....
That thing is beautiful! I want...I want...I want...
My wife has been saying "I wish we had a truck that I could drive."
I wonder if I can convince her.
Wow, that is sweet!
I just wouldn't know what to do with one that I couldn't take apart... :o

What's with the aftermarket looking A/C?? Also, the steering wheel is t he older style, not the newer style that goes with the newer style dash.
Nice truck, otherwise.

My 87J20 has the same 3 spoke steering wheel, the 2 spokers are a WAG thing.
What about the tripod mirrors, they're aren't correct.
The A/C is easily identifiable as not....also the 86-88 would of had control for A/C on the dash panel.
Sanden A/C compressor instead of York.
Tailgate protector?
Hub caps?
Carpet is origional and CLEAN !
Still this truck has to be in the top 10 ORIGIONAL PAINT J Trucks left.
...
Pretty but not 8 grand pretty.

NOT MY CUP OF TEA BUT I AM SURE IT'S WORTH A GOOD BUCK. PERHAPS NOT $8000.00 THE UGLY WIDE MOULDINGS KILL IT FOR ME AS DO THE GOOFY HUBCAPS AND BOGUS MIRRORS. I THINK THIS OLD GIRL HAS BEEN MASSAGED AT SOME POINT.

I'm glad that I got the J20, fenders have rock chips, but like the options it has.
The J10 needs toughening up. Lift, mud tires wheels...
I don't think it's been messed with much....let alone restored.
Typical frame painting from used car dealer....pics are good quality and can see thru black paint that the frame hasn't even ever had surface rust.
Sure can't buy a J truck and restore one for 8K.

Had hard time going to sleep last night...
I finally convinced myself that if this truck was only a shortbed...
Still... dreamed about parting it out (that OEM Pioneer NOS condition interior for spares)...or was that a nightmare? LOL.
Can't believe its still for sale with a BIN of only 8500.

I don't feel so bad about doing that to mine now...
If it was a stepside (sportside?) box and I had the $$$ I'd have bought it already......heck if I just had the bank I probably would.

I like brows and no brow...have to get a J Truck of each style.
Yep, been eyeing that seat...only the late model Pioneers have the holes in them.
Holes good idear, ur skin don't stick to vinyl when in cutoff's.
I've been wondering why there is so many nice 86-88 J trucks when so few were made.
True Jeep Truck enthusists must of know the end was in sight of the 26 year model run starting with the Gladiator.....so some bought the later model trucks and didn't work them to death?
Just like the 86 model CJ or 91 GW or 92 MJ Eliminator ?

I almost bought the last new J-truck that our local Jeep dealer sold. It was an '87 J-10, 6 cyl., 4 speed. Red, long box. If I recall I would have been out the door for around $9500 bucks. I was just out of college and it would have been a stretch to afford it, so I kept driving my '81 Scrambler (it would have been my trade-in  - I don't remember what they were offering me for it).
It would have been my main transportation, though, so it would have racked up the miles and would have been driven on our salty winter roads. It certainly wouldn't have survived like this one...

What year's and/or package do U get the bumper guards and rubber strips on J Trucks?
See them on Wags all time, and sometimes on J Trucks.
I've always wondered if the J Trucks had swapped on Wag stuff?
Anyway notice this truck has them.
Oh.... someone with puter skills, post the pics on here where we can see it for years, before eBay deletes most of photo's.

:) I new i'd get a comment back on that.
It's funny though driving my J Truck around I get comments all of the time and a lot of people forgot they even made Jeep pick ups and are definitely surprised when I tell them they were made up until '87.
It is surprising they aren't more collectable yet because there were so few made compared to Ch*vy and F*rd.
They are cool in any configuration (brow/no brow) but the brow look definitely set them apart looks wise from the others. Oh shoot I said it again:hide: :D

thanks for saving the pics.
Unbelieveable that this truck hasn't sold.
Stayed up late again and almost hit the BIN button several times.
Offbrand 4 wheeler ATV costs more than this truck....and they got no heat or A/C... Nor can they hit road or pull boat.
anyone know about Correctness of the front bumper on this truck?

I would say it's correct, the Wagoneer bumpers are too narrow to fit on a J truck.

08-14-2009, 12:04 PM
yep ...I should of rephrased question.
Know Wags are about 4" narrower.
Most J Trucks I've seen have plain front bumper....meaning no bumper guards or rubber strips on ends of bumper.
Just don't see too many origional J Trucks to compare.
Guess time to dig out Jeep brochures.

It does say it's a one owner rig. Perhaps they can tell you how it was ordered or what was added by the dealer over the years? Wouldn't the dealer have records of that maybe?

I've had two very original J trucks that had the bump strips and bumper guards on them. I'd say they are original.
