Hello all,

I ask that because I need still need it! If you or anyone you know has an 84 to 86 Grand Wag or J-truck, with a I6 258 motor and an auto tranny, and you don't need the ECU computer anymore, let's talk! Because I need one!

It's the ECU that mounts ondee the dash on the passnger side.

Thanks in advance!

Um, the "ECU that mounts ondee the dash on the passnger side" is actually the cruise control module. The engine computer is mounted on the driver side inner fender well, under the hood.

I'd have one to give you, but I threw it away a couple of weeks ago when I installed a rebuilt engine w/MSD ignition and Weber carb. It felt soooooooo good to do that surgery on the wiring harness!

He's not talking about the ignition module. There actually was an ECU to control the Carter BBD carburetor on the I-6 engines, from '80 onward, with an O2 sensor and everything.

Of course, it never worked right and was usually bypassed.

Thanks, but we;'ve already been through this in a previous post. There are two harneses down there. One for the cruise, and one for the ECU.

Thanks, but we;'ve already been through this in a previous post. There are two harneses down there. One for the cruise, and one for the ECU.When did they change this? My 1982 Waggie had the entire engine feedback system (ECU, diagnostic connectors, wire harness, etc.) in the engine bay. None of this was behind the dash.
