Hey i was wondering if the mopar 360 would fit in a 87 j20 there nice motors n have good hp n not hard to find parts

From what I've heard they wont bolt directly in. There may be an adapter though.
Then again I could be way off.. smile.gif

The amc360 and the mopar360 are two completely different animals. You can always swap to whatever you want with enough time, effort, and money, but... with a post 1980 FSJ the easiest way to swap to a mopar would be to get a mopar TF727 to go along with the Mopar engine, then since the output is the same on amc and mopar TF727's, mount your original transfer case on the mopar TF727. You still have to work out all the other details like motor mounts, cooling, wiring, etc. BTW, there is a ton of information on here in previous posts about engine swaps, do a search and you will come up with hours of material.
