Ok, got a q for the esperts. Got the 4.7 going ok and how it's on to exhaust. I've got a dual outlet header and have heard mixed things about what I should do with the exhaust from there back. My question is should I go dual and if so what size or should I stick with something like single 2.5"?

I've been told that going dual will raise my power band too much to be useful. My buddy had a 283 in his CJ with dual 2 1/4" exhaust and said he loved it. My question is what's the difference between his almost stock 283 and my 284?

Not dead set on using dual, just curious. I was thinking maybe dual 2" or something, not sure. Would like to run cats but I don't know if I'll have room with dual or not...then into some flowmasters probably...

Thanks,
Anthony

Well the 283 has two more cylinders, so although it is slightly smaller, air gets pumped out more often because of the twoo extra cylinders. So a V8 will require a bit more exhaust then a 6 cylinder will. I dont see any reason why you couldent go with a dual 2". I personally wouldent run flowmasters, as I think a 6 with flowmasters sounds like crap, but thats just me hehe.

But since you are running a pretty modded 6, I would go with dual 2" myself.
