Found a 79 WT Cherokee for under $600 with a good running 360, AT, hub conversion and no low range. There's some rust at the bottom rear of the front fenders (behind the flares) and a small bit of rust through at the bottom rear of one of the rear flares. It's been zeibarted. Got some surface rust on the inside of the roof. No rust visible on the underside of the floor pans. Not sure how bad it may be under the carpet.

Seats are in good shape, headliner seriously sacks and the carpet smells of mildew.

Overall, it's solid and in good shape. May need the doors replaced and the rear window lift needs work. Also needs some brake work. A/C is in place but didn't try it to see if it works.

I need a good body to either drop onto my 76 Cherokee or to drop my 401 & 4 speed into and I want something solid.

I'm debating whether or not to get this one or take a chance and keep looking. The Jeep is local and can be driven home. Whaddya think?

600 bucks for a runner? jump on it! even if you spent a few weekends beating it to death it would be worth it.

Definetly don't let that Jeep go if you have the cash. Buy it and once you have it around, uses for it or its parts will materialize shortly:D
