Specifically, a 360 with the Edelbrock Performer intake and Edelbrock 600 CFM carb, Summit K8600 cam, and more or less stock exhaust manifolds.
What RPM does it like to run?
Thanks!

I run same setup with a little differrent cam. On flat ground starts pulling at about 1500. On a hill needs to be closer to 2000. Awesome passing speed at 2500-3000rpm.

My 360 runs like a top at 2200. At this rate It has enough power to accelerate quickly and fuel usage seems optimal. Same setup with stock cam.

The sweet spot on mine is with the key in the off position, seriously tho, I don't have a tach but is real comfy at about 50, I have 3.73 gears. :D :D :D  But thats not where I drive it tho!

40 mph at 2200 rpm. Wish I had a 16% OD!

I would say 2200-3200. I surprise a lot of people with the way it pulls. When it hits 2200ish rpm's it will just jump up, like noticably. I dont think the 360 in my cherokee is factory, i think it was rebuilt/replaced at one time. Because a lot of the stuff wasnt hooked up to it, and when I pulled the intake to put on the performer the lifter valley was spotless. So it may have a different cam then stock, no clue.
I can pull a lot of hills at 1500ish rpm's depending on how fast I am going. Like I can climb some pretty decent hills around here in 4th gear going 40mph without any problems.
Going 60-65 in 4th though all I gota do is crack the throttle and I will stay at that speed. I recently got 15mpg doing this.
Buick 350 here: 4V Qjet
Best is between 900 and 2500 rpm.
Freaking drives like a tank, but dam quick off the line with 3:31's and 33's.
