The "madness" on here is spreading... Here is my '69 J3600 I only had to drive 15 minutes to drag home! I looked a year and a half for a Buick powered T400 Glad locally and found two in a month...
Appears to have orig. 350, I can see the '69 style rocker arms. '72 4BBL intake w/ '72 Chev Quadrajet. PS, PB D20, D44-D53 open in back. The guy parked it two years ago, was running. Someone added leaves for a modest lift. Can't wait to get it going again and use it for my farm beater/rolling parts truck for 'restoring' the J2600.
Check out the "Cutlas" hubs-- they turn freely. Anyone familiar with those? I like vintage stuff like that...

Good work truck with that rack on there.

Good work truck with that rack on there.
The top "halo" and legs are 1 1/2 inch stock-- I'm thinking of making that part removable, welds there a little iffy anyway. The rest of the cab shield and bed rail part are very nicely done. Really handy to have a rack sometimes....

When it rains, it pours, I guess. It feels good to have two to make one, same drive trains including 4.09 gears, saves time and $$$ chasing down major parts.
Now, if I could just find that elusive decent pre- '73 tailgate locally...and a plow... and....

Nice truck. I think the cutless hubs are real hard to find parts for. Course the rear D53 might be a bit difficult to find parts for as well. At least I think they are.
And I don't see a whole bunch of rust in the picts.........

Thanks for the thoughts....
Rust not too bad. The driver's side of the bed wall has the usual rust right at that joint with the floor, Pass side has had that addressed. Fender flares real good, quite straight too. May end up using them from this bed to fix my j2000 down the road-- flares on it were pounded out by an orangutanhttp://www.ifsja.org/forums/vb/images/icons/icon8.gif The only rust to speak of in that truck is in the cab floors... it has an old oil change label in the door from Tucson...
I need to learn more about those hubs and D53's... I need to search old threads then maybe start new ones. My factory shop manual says 40lbs. on a torque wrench is the minimum for testing the clutches on the Powr-Lok on my j2000, I need to check that, worried about availability of those. Noticed Randy's had a rebuild kit for a D53 listed, not much else though.
