I've been rebuilding,re-doing,cuttin,chopping, what ever you want to call it, to my 77 Chief for a few years now. Was going to be trail and mud, now where I live is beneath a rocky mountain.
HD 44 up front, D-70u rear, 35-16-15 Boggers, still has 360 th-400 q-trac for now. 383 th-400 np-205 soon. Anything I should change, or just wheel it 'til i break to see what I need to change?
Pics and vid show it how it is now, still not finished. Lots of little things, and a front driveshaft rebuild, and of course the wheels and tires in pics are not what i run on it. Don't want them to dry rot.
Thanks in advance.

Your post is young enough that I'll say that we'll see what others have to say.

But you need to keep in mind that as often as not you need to use your own head about these things. All of these are experimental prototypes. And sometimes some of the most legendary are self-thunk-up by the people that built them.

Don't stick with Erma Rombauer or Betty Crocker, or you'll never leave the kitchen. ;)

Expect to break plenty of stuff also in your experimentations.

One of our members here I quote hopefully accurately in their signature: "Baja today--Boo-Hoo tomorrow!"

I think the only way to know what you want out of it wheeling is to wheel it. So how about some action shots. :fsj:

I have found out that I really, really need a front locker!
It's going to have to wait for a while though, just had our first kid Monday.
In a few years I might have me a tool monkey!!
It seems to flex pretty good for stock springs.
