Cherokee side glass

After looking at my 77 tonight, I noticed the rear side window's (with pop out's)were not in a frame, just in a rubber seal. Both of my 79's the glass is in a frame with a rubber seal between it and the body. Is that the way they came in 77 or was it after market to replace the single piece?

Jeep, FWIW the 77 and 78 I've had, had just the rubber seal. I don't believe it's aftermarket.
