okay, I posted yesterday under "newbie with newbie like questions" I was asking about an egr valve, well thats not what I need, my problem is that my check valve is missing, along with a broken pipe on my air injection manifold, don't know how this will effect my performace but it doesn't sound that great. I have thought about just plugging the holes up with bolts or screws.

I'm getting a small amount of dieseling ( less than a full sec.) when I shut my motor off, I'm sure it's due to a High idle, I also have some engine pinging when accelarating don't know if theese two could be related.

also I have noticed a gassy smell while underway, it's really only noticeable when the windows are down.

I have decided (after reading some post made here) that I'm going to start adding some 2stroke oil to my gas, i hope this will help the pingin & dieseling.. do I need to decarb first?

How can I tell if my cat coverter is clogged?

when my cat was clogged i had really poor mpg. the motor would feel like it was dragging a few tons

the gassy smell might be from the power valve. pull the pv hose from the front of the carb and see if there is any gas in it. this might be yout problem

my dieseling is from my high idle. it also seemed to be cured when i went through and set all the carb adjustment back to spec
