I have a 78 cherokee chief S
I want to add an add-a-leaf kit to it
I am thinking about a 3 to 4 inch kit
My question is how far can I lift it this way before I have to start altering the truck
i.e. extend the steering
*****extend the brake lines
things of this nature
I know when i helped my brother on his bronco with a 6 inch coil lift we had to change these
but now I am to lazy to go through that much work again.

I don't think anyone offers an add a leaf that just uses aal's for 4 inches. The rusty 4 inch aal is reffering to the 4 inch kit that uses front springs and rear aal's with 2inch blocks. Most I've ever seen out of a aal is 2 1/2 inches.

I also have not seen AAL's for that high. After I got my 2 inch AAL's the changed the rider of the wag. If I was going to go that high I would have to say go with a new spring pack...

ok i am considering 2 inch AAL to gain a little clearance. not that i do any off roading of a serious nature, but i am curious if it will hurt articulation do to the increased spring rate? i would just go a 4 inch spring lift, but i would need bigger tires and rims and i am, well, cheap.

the springs will be stiffer. So flex will be hampered some witht he AAL's.
As fr the lift, you dont HAVE to have bigger tires and such. You can put tires on at a later date if you want, some 32's or 33's. But its not a must ;p And your current rims would work fine.
