OK, on to the next project--the new 401 in the 89 Grand is running like a top! Now I am looking for some type of overdrive unit? I dont really want to have to swap out the tranny. My 727 is running great and the NP-229 was rebuilt about 12K ago so it is in good shape as well. I have noticed that overdrive units are sold for the 208 but not the 229 WHY? Arent they basicly the same case? Both of them had 23 spline inputs right? I need some education  !!--does anyone have an overdrive unit on their Grand? ANY advice appriciated--also got some pictures of the project(89 Grand 360 to 401 swap) how do I post them?
Thanks, Kirk

Hmmmmmmm..... Baaad News

Only way for an Overdrive is to swap-out your tranny for a 700R4 (w/ adaptors) or 42RH (AMC bolt-pattern).

RamJetFSJ has an overdrive in his rig... but he did the Chevy 350/700R4 swap. I probably won't have mine till a year or so... any condritutors to my "Overdrive Fund" is greatly appreciated! LOL :D

As for the pic's.... you need to find someone who'll "host" the images... so you'll be able to post them. smile.gif
