More questions from the rookie. I have to replace the front wheel u-joints on my 84 GW. I found some joints, but I can't find the tool to remove the locking nut inside the hub. Looks like a slotted socket type deal. Any suggestions? How difficult is this replacement? Doesn't look too difficult. HA, HA! Does anyone know the torque on the nut once I get it back together? Still can't find a good shop book on the 84'GW.....Thanks, Steve

The tool should be at your parts store...it's a cheapo socket/spanner with 4 prongs.

My 79 manual says:
inner nut--torque to 50lb while rotating wheel, then loosen and torque to 35lb while rotating wheel, then loosen 1/3 turn. Put in the washer so the peg on the inner nut lines up with a hole in the washer. outer nut--torque to at least 50lb
Hope this helps,
