My speedometer has quit working.
The cable seems to be two parts with some type sensor in the middle.
Any ideas about how to test what is wrong?

the cables will slide out of its sheathing in one direction... not sure which. if the cable is broken in two, you can buy a replacement. you can check the speedo by diconnecting the end that comes from the dash and twist it while someone watches the dash. If it moves then the other cable is bad or broken. Takes a little time but worth the effort.

Not sure I really understand. When you talk about disconnecting the end that comes from the dash, do I disconnect it at the linkage in the middle and try and twist the cable that is still connected through the firewall into the speedometer?
Thanks for the help!

I know the kind of cable your talking about. Its 2 parts with a speed sensor in between, not sure what its for though? But you can take it apart and turn the cable and if it spins on the other end its good. If the sensor is the problem you can easily bypass it by removing it and connecting both parts of the cable together.

I'm not sure but I'd assume that the speed sensor is for the Cruise Control. If you remove the sensor, it won't work.
