A/C HOSE REPLACEMENT

The hose that runs from the compressor through the firewall and into the evaporator on my 87 GW needs to be replaced. I can't get my hands and two wrenches up under the dash to the fittings. What is the best way to get this hose off? Can the plastic piece up under the dash be dropped with out alot of trouble? I am a novice mechanic at best. Thanks!

Yup, you have to drop the whole unit to get at the evaporator. It not too hard to do.

Be careful, that hose may still be under pressure.
