Help! I installed the part-time kit on my QT a while ago, just had the opportunity to test it last week. Guess what? Yep, no part time. I've tried reversing the hoses, checking for vaccum at the vac diaphram, everything seems OK. Even sucked on the vac line and heard the diaphram moving. Is there anyway for me to tell if the diaphram is bad???
Also, I'm assuming that the diaphram is good, and I screwed sumthin up. The directions seemed easy enough though, are there any common mistakes that might be my problem?
Thirdly, what's the easiest way to remove the transfer case from a lifted Jeep? I've always taken it off with the tranny, but I would prefer not to do that this time. Any tips/tricks for removal???
Thanks!!!

Have you tried shifting into reverse after activating the vacum switch? I helps free up the shift fork to engage into 4 wheel drive. I have to do this some times going in and out of 4 wheeldrive.

Yes, but not that intently. I'll try it a few times tonight, and report back!

I know this may not be the answer you're looking for, but most service that needs done to the B/W 1339 can be acomplished by splitting the case while it is still in the car. This includes installing the part-time kit. It does help sometimes to have an extra hand or two, but I've seen the pictures of your house and don't think that would be an insurmountable problem. :D  ;) :D

Don't know if this applies, but if you installed part-time hubs this may be the prob. I did this once and had the knobs on the hubs off 180 degrees and weren't engaging. Probably not the problem but anyway.

Reversed all over the place last night, still no shift into 2wd  . Wouldn't make me so mad if the directions were hard or I got confused on them or something. DANG-IT!!! Looks like I'm going to have to pull it off again!   !!!
Can I remove the low-range unit first so I don't have to worry about clearing the gas tank?

How hard is this manual shift setup I keep hearing about? $$$? How does it look (from the inside) when it's finished?
