What was the standard axle gearing in '79? 3.31s?
Thanks

Either that or 3.07...sorry, J-trucks are different from Cheros/Wags. I know my '78 Cherokee was offered with 3.07 and 3.54 if that helps. Is there no tag on the diff cover? You can jack up a wheel and count the revolutions of wheel to driveshaft ratio and derive your r&P gearing from that.

I'm not sure about the tag, was just curious, I'm gonna take the axles off a parts rig and was just wondering what the gears were. Not really that big of a deal...yet. http://www.ifsja.org/ubb/smile.gif

Anthony what model 79 vehicle are you refering to?
3.54's for the Wags/Cheros/J-10's w/3.07's optional.
J-20's came with 3.73's and 3.54's opt.
