hey Don,
Is this what I am s'posed to be looking for?

This looks like a sterling example of a POS....and I thought my carb looked bad...
BTW, why's he calling it an Autolite? :confused: aint it a MC 4300? Cuz it sho looks like my 4350....

That is a ford Mercury part number D4VE-AB. It does look a little crudy and remember it is a few less CFM than the 4350 and uses different gaskets. When you take the top of be careful there is a little ball and a little valve that can fall out of the bowl when turned over. Seems like to much money to me. I like them but you would probably like more horse power from an MC-4350 off of a 78 T Bird.

One other thing I forgot about is overhaul kits may be very hard to get because the MC-4300 is very rare. So if you change your mind see if you can get a kit first…

Still messin with those old junkers? :D Keep your eyes on Ebay you might just find the adapter for a standard square bore carb there. I did and then used it to put a Holley on there instead of the 4350. Thats the way to go.
