hey all,

Allan/jamchico asked me awhile back to write up something on how I rewired my headlights using the relay's and more powerful lights since he was having mysterious problems and wanted something safer. I just finished the writeup and wanted to give you all the link to the article. Its an easy upgrade, I'd love to hear from anybody attempting it so I can be sure that my instructions didn't leave anything out or confuse anyone.

I am not familiar with the electrical system of the 69, but I would connect main power to the alternator instead of the battery. In later model jeeps with the ammeter, hooking to the battery will pull power from the alternator through the ammeter to feed the connection at the battery and that will overload the ammeter and cause it to overheat and possibly fail.

The other benefits of this is no corrosion killing the conection and no power loss from the electrical system of the jeep.

I just scaned through it but your wright up looks to be well thought out and to cover all the possibilities.

Just my .02
