So I am going hydroboost and Elliot recomends synthetic fluid.
I checked the local parts stores and blank stare...
I see Summit has Red line and Royal Purple, so it does exist.

On the farm we just used ATF (merc/dex) so can I use the syn. version of that or a different 1?

(I was going to e-mail Elliot, but decided to post for anyone else with similar issues)

You can use regular PS fluid, it will work... but it retains heat and air bubbles more, expands and isn't as durable as synthetic. If you have a NAPA near you they can probably get some Synthetic ordered up. They do mix so you can run what ya got and flush it later if desired... or just run the regular fluid but know that increased heat is downer for hose duration and deteriorated hoses are what typically puts the particals in your system that trash your seals, create shellacing, etc.

Napa sells synthetic and it is usually on the shelf next to the regular.

It's either Advanced or Autozone that sells it. I'm almost positive it's Advanced. A skinny little black bottle that's like $9.99. I used one bottle and the rest regular.

When O'Reiley's moved in out NAPA owner dropped is franchise rights and sold his building to Carquest. Next time I have to run to one of the other town around here with a NAPA I will chech there.
