Where should an axle sit when running shackle reversal in location to the wheelwel to acount for shackle swing? Should it be slightly foward? or in the middle?

With reversed shackles, the axle will move to the rear when the springs compress. So the axle needs to be slightly forward so it won't hit your rear fenderwell when the springs compress. I think that's what your asking

Edit: The further forward you place the axle, the better your approach angle will be. So if you're going to have to remount everything and get a new front driveshaft anyway, push the axle a good bit forward. That'll help a lot offroading.

Slightly forward so it can swing back.

as far forward as you can, without the draglink hitting the tie rod. i think you can only move it an inch or two at most. i think tad did some experimenting with that.

Al Thanks, I like the "experimenting" part, sounds much better than screw up.
I'm 1/4" off that magic line, any further and the two will make contact on downward compression, further than that and you are over the line and binding.
I think mine is a combination of the older/shorter springs and newer/longer pitman arm. I'm planning to wage war on that sucker before October and make it a bit better, but that means ripping my entire front suspension off the rig and starting over.
