My Jeep (AMC360) got up to 215 degrees F today. It was about 85 degrees F out, stop and go, with the A/C blasting.
Is this really OK? I have TBI, so no vapor lock issues. ;)
The gauge (88, so it's the newer dash) shows the OK zone from 180/200 to just over 220. The red zone starts at 240 or 250.
The actual temp numbers I got from the TBI ECM.
Is it OK to let it run that hot?
Yes, I have a fan shroud, yes the fan clutch is less than 2 years old.

That's not too bad. Factory cars with electric fans don't even come on till about 230.

it should be lower than that, especially with 85 degrees out. What condition / range is your thermostat? Also, even though the fan clutch is 2yrs old, did you check it for resistance when cold? Also, is your fuel map going lean when it does this?

Thermostat is stock, replaced about 2 months ago when I was replacing the intake (switched from Torkker to Performer).
Fan clutch seems good. It has resistance when cold.
BLM's are all between 126 and 130.
I'll get a price for rodding out the radiator. I've already spent too much $$ on this truck this year!
