after the vehicle sat for overnight or 8 hours or so it would not start. i found the problem to be the choke not closing. i thought it was binding or the linkage was the problem. i was having to close it manually in the morning to start up. there was no tension in the spring when it was cold. there should be some spring to it, but mine was limp and had no resistance.

i took the housing off when the choke was hot and fully opened. i but it back and turned it towards the opening position so that there was tension on it. so when it cooled and the spring contracted it closed properly. the spring may have been taken off and not put on properly or the spring had become worn and stretched too much. either way the last few mornings she closes when i tap the pedal and starts up with little problem. now i have to adjust everything properly and try to get my fast idle working again.

That's nice thing to get straight, I hate it when you leave a rig to warm up and it dies so you have to freeze your butt sitting in it or wrenching on it.
It actually got cold around here the last few days, maybe not so much down your way.

You give me hope! I am wrestling with that as well with no luck yet. So far I have replaced the choke cover (the last one was actually melted) and changing the choke pulloff.

If this does not fix it I will do what you just did.

What carb are you running?

2150. does your choke have any tension on it? does it open properly?
