you have to grind the rivet heads off. 1/4 -20 nuts, bolts and washers will replace them. the bracket is "handed" but it unscrews from the actuator. the actuator itself fits either side. on 3 of the doors on my new 88, i helped the action with an expansion spring on the arm the actuator drives.the actuator is prolly fine. the problems i ran into were that the rods and pivots were bound up. i had the whole latch mechanism out . i freed up the pivots and re-assembled them, making sure that they werent binding. i did take the actuator apart( watch out for the brush springs and brushes) i cleaned the commutator and lubed the drive rack. make a reference mark before you disassemble because it can go together 180' out and this will put the actuator out of sync with the other 3. the dust seal was pretty ratty, so i left it off.

You can also replace them with new ones from a car alarm shop. $19 bucks or so gets you new one that almost bolts right in. You just have to drill 1 new mount hole, then attach the wires. If it operates opposite the others, switch the wires around.
