I'm pretty new to the FSJ community, but have truly enjoyed working on my rig and going on the one run up here in Chino Valley. I would like to hear from fellow Az jeepers and discuss where and when there might be another trail ride. Any ideas? :fsj:

It really is too hot for a desert trail ride and there wasn't a whole lot of interest in a meet and greet when suggested last month. There is a group of AZFSJ'ers going up to the Ouray FSJ Invasion next month. I'm just going to take the Summer to work on Jeeps. Due to this heat and other interferences, not a whole lot of work is getting done. I'm pretty sure we'll have something scheduled for October.

Sounds cool. Wish there was an FSJ group up here in the central and northern Az area. Would have loved to been able to go to the Ouray event I miss Colorado and am very familiar with that area those that do get to go should have a great time.

...I'm pretty sure we'll have something scheduled for October. Las Cruces is October 13-16th this year, I'll probably go over on the 12th to Silver City, down to Cruces on the 13th, back to Silver on the afternoon of the 16th (if still running/driving) and then back into SoAZ on the morning of the 17th.
300-400 miles per day is about all I can tolerate in the jeep these days.

As far as going out in the summer Tom is correct.
Once it's 100 and anything out, I head for the pines in SoNM.
I was there in Feb alone:

Skipped March, April in the Nissan
In May with rstep:

Was back 2 weeks ago with another SoAZ member and will be there again in about 24 hours for another 2 days of wheeling/trail prowling.

vintagetrks,
You folks have the nice NoAZ summer stuff.
For us in SoAZ we have to drive 3-4 hours no matter what so given the choice we avoid central AZ at all costs in the summer.

I hear ya. Great pics. It's pretty hot up here too would like to explore some of the trails up Flagstaff way in the pines. Not as many jeepers up here as there are jeeps if ya know what I mean.

Might plan an early morning run to a lake down in the valley sometime this summer if that interests ya! :D

Maybe we should try the trail I was describing before. I might have the gas funds in the next couple of weeks.

Nice rig! That was me and my wagoneer you saw at the light by Frontier Village. I finally got the thing back on the road and am enjoying every minute of it!

OOHHHH, Ok. You were giving me that "deer in the head light" look and I racked my brain trying to figure out where I saw that Jeep at.

You have a nice waggy. We'll have to get together soon.

Don't we all have that look going to work? Haha. We definitely have to check out some trails once I get the waggy 100% (or as close to it as possible).
