I thought there was but I didn't find one when I took it apart.

I believe there is. But it has been a while since I had mine off so I could be mistaken.

Depends on the manifold. The earlier manifolds used a composition "donut" gasket. The composition donut was replaced by a steel donut, which was eventually cast-in to the outlet of the manifold.
You can get both the steel and composition donut from Felpro. Steel works better (a metal-to-metal seal).
