On my 79 Cherokee WT the gas tank is always pressurized. When I remove the gas cap, there is a sudden rush of fumes. My 84 and 86 GWs don't do that.
Should I be concerned?

On my 78' it was a plugged roll-over check valve. I'm doing without one now, but the tank vents now.

Gasoline ‘keeps’ much longer when it’s not vented. I like the pressure.
... My stock 1976 gas cap only vents inward (to keep the tank and hoses from colapsing) and does not let the pressure out. I don’t have any other vents.
Good Luck and keep it running. ;) . CUL… ds..
