i have a 1979 j10 258 straight 6 borg warner t-15 and a dana 20 transfer case dana 44's front and rear what the hell i s my gear ratio i have look at the numbers on the axle with no help.:mad: anyone know or have the same rig?

Post up the numbers on the axle and we should be able to tell you.

Most likely 3.54's. If you can't find tags, count the number of turns the driveshaft needs to make the tire turn once.

not positive but i belive this is it located on the top of the front axle dont know if it helps

The axle ratio is on a tag that is attached with the diff cover bolts...

You can also jack up the rear end, mark the driveshaft, rotate the passenger rear tire and count how mant times the driveshaft spins. If it spins 3.5 times then it is 3.54's and 3.75 would be 3.73's and so on.
