Starter question

Just got my tranny back in and my starter isn't engauging i took it out and hooked it straight to a battery and nothing. any ideas worked fine a week ago. May have gotten a little wet due to rain.

I've had them die on me like that.
Some times they just quit.

Take it apart and check the brushes. Check the resistance of the winding for open circuit.

Or, just get a rebuilt.
