What can I expect to run into if I swap out my tired ol' SBC for a SBCDeisel plant (6.2). Do they bolt up exactly the same and what about the fuel delivery stuff (will I need to run new lines, get a new tank ect.)
Thanks and sorry for taking up precious FSJ bandwidth with cheesy Chevy stuff...

Stick with the SBC. You'll have a lot more fun and mileage.

I agree, the chevy diesel is rather un-inspiring. Stick with a mild 350 and you should be fine.

With what it would cost to put a 6.2 in, you can build a really nice SBC and have some cash left over. The 6.2 wasn't one of GM's better ideas, they had a load of head problems with them among other things. I'd go with the SBC, less weight, and no conversion problems. Spend the money you save on a lift, tires or maybe lockers. And BTW the 6.2 isn't a SBC conversion diesel.

You've talked me out of it!! I guess what I really want is torque, lots of it. Sounds like I won't be getting it from deisel.
Thanks folks.

If you're looking for lots of torque, why not build a stroker? For less than the cost of the 6.2 you wanted to put in you can have a nice strong 383 SBC and have a ton of torque.
