Tore my 360 apart in preparation to swap it out this weekend. I knew something let go in the engine last year and found it was th #7 and #8 pistons... they are not attached to the crank anymore.

I looks like when things went south, parts bent the deflector shield in the oil pan. Popped one of the spot welds off but didn't puncture it.

Would you guys recommend replacing the oil pan before putting it on the new block? Or will it be alright as long as it doesn't have a too big a gap around the side?

As long as there are no holes in it and nothing is loose, then I'd say run it. If anything, it just has MORE clearance for the rods. :D
