Could be a horn center or possibly the front of the grille badge. How large is it? The grille badges were about 5" round and the horn center slightly smaller.

That's a grille badge. It used to go on the rhino chaser grilles. That is if it has two pins on the back side of it.

I've got a grille with two holes for one of them badges to go on it, but I opted to go "Badgeless"

nope no pins on the back, the back is open so maybe there was a plastic thing that went in it that had the pins...??

That's a possibility... but now I'm more inclined to think its a hubcap centercap piece. Nice find though....

You wouldn't happen to be able to get a set of decals that say "4-wheel drive" in ***Script*** ?

They used them on the old Willy's Wagons.

Since we're on the subject, does anyone know how to swap functional lights into the "decorative louver-painted grill like insert thingies" on either side of the grill without it look like a boy scout did it?

Thanks

It is a hub cap insert from the full wheel covers of an early wag. The horn buttons were plastic with a clear plastic cover and the grille badges had a wider crome beveled rim. There was also a smaller version of that on the speaker grille. If you want a couple of the 4wheel
drive emblems let me know and I can make a better deal than $30. I also have a couple of the goofy looking emblems that filled the hole in the glove box door where the clock went. You may even be able to convince me to part with a full set of Wagoneer emblems like on my 65 which are really cool. BTW there 2 styles of the 4wd emblems the early one that had all the latters raised from the background and the later one that had the letters engraved into the surface. I have both.

I picked up a set of dog dish style hubcaps today that have the same logo/color scheme as that emblem. They do not have a detachable emblem in the center. The emblem is integral with the hubcap. They measure 10.75 inches across. The emblems themsevles measure 4 inches across. The front hubcaps have an open center for hubs.

Just curious if anyone knows what these hubcaps were used on. I paid one dollar for the complete set.

Those would be the cheapie hub caps found on Puckups and Wags that the owners did not spend the cash to buy the Full wheel covers. The full wheel covers were an extra cost option.

They're the early hub caps. If they're in good shape and ya ever want to sell them drop me an email. I'm looking for a set for my 63 Wag.

Not to beat this dead horse too much, but I just noticed that WRT IDing the rondel that YaZahX was asking about in the first place, my grille badge has two concentric chromed rings around the logo, whereas this one doesn't. Same for the ones in Mr Grizwald's picture. I have nothing exactly like YZX's, but so little on my 67 was still there when I bought it...
I really would like to know how to go about the trim/auxiliary light conversion if anyone knows the trick
Thanks
