:mad:I ordered a new tank from BJ's since I was told I would have it by Friday and that would give me the time to install it before my weekend trip.
Nice that it only came with the bare tank a one stinking bolt! Nothing else. Man that really boils my potato. Now I need to find someway to fix my old tank or miss the trip again.

Not sure I understand your issue...did something not show up that should have? Usually BJ's does a good job with getting you what you ordered...did they miss something? If so let them know, they'll make it right.

this is really a vendor forum issue.

I have been trying to call BJ's but get no answer.
The tank should come with all the installation hardware per the website and my conversation with Brent.
What I got was a beat to hell box with the tank..one bolt and 1 lock washer and a brass fitting taped to the tank.
No straps, no other hardware, hence no way to install said gas tank.
I know that BJ's just orders it from MTS directly so he cant help what I actually get, but hell..everyone was waiting on this tank so we can leave for the trip. Now we cant.

The tanks drop ship from the vendor. It's unfortunate but a valuable lesson. Never count on a last minute purchase/install to go flawlessly. BJs will make it right for you, but there is nothing they can do to get you on the road today. Have you tried dropping them an email or logging into their forum?

We got one on the 77 Waggy a few years back. Like she said, they drop ship from the manufacturer. We did get everything with it we were supposed to and the install was pretty easy. There was some confusion about the lock ring for the fuel sender, but a call to the manufacturer cleared that up. Good Luck!
We did have trouble with popping the fuel sender o-ring out twice and had leaking gas as a result. This involved driving up above 11,000 feet too. I since learned these FSJs really need a vented gas cap. :o

Did you leave a message? On Fridays, we are in and out most of the day but we still return all calls by the end of the day.
Sounds like the box was beat up by FedEx and the hardware came out, we will do what we can to get the proper hardware out to you but unfortunately I can't work miracles and get you something right now.
Sorry this happened. Let me know what I can do to help.

Hi,
like I said, i understand that they are drop shipped from MTS and BJ's cant control that. So..I cant blame BJs.
I dont think the box was beat so bad that all the straps came out..maybe but i doubt. After all..the 1 screw and lock washer where in there ;)
I did leave a few messages though. I also called maybe 15 times between 2 and 4 PST.

A lesson for next time: Don't plan on installing something major (like a gas tank) the day before a big trip.
I always plan for some hiccups along the way and a few missing parts and trips to the parts store(s) over the course of the weekend, no matter what the project.
That's why I have extra cars. They're really parts delivery vehicles. :D
