Just curious what year models came with this style trim and how hard is it to find?? (photo is from Bob Barry's Wagoneer ID site..a must see!)

Bob, I'll be sure and take the pic off if you want me to smile.gif

That trim was used until about 65 and then they switched it to this http://members.fortunecity.com/porkchopsredfsj/id17.htm You can tell it is an older wag from the fact that it has no trim around the tail lights. Also had no back up lights.

Well, the pic shows up as a broken link on my browser, but thanks for the compliment on the page. The inset light was used from '63-'65 on the Wagoneers, and apparently from '63 until the end of production.
The backup lights were available only as options, but became standard when the wide chrome trim was introduced in mid-'65.

Thanks for the info guys! Do you know how difficult these trim pieces are to find?

It depends on how bad you want them as I have a complete spare set on my parts waggy which is a 65 with back up lights. The back up lights are going on my 65.

D*mn...oh well ;) Bob do you have a pic of the BU lights on your 65? I've been looking for some for my 63 but I only know what the ones for a 67+ look like. I think they're different than the earlier ones but maybe possibly the same? Thanks.

Newbie,
I've been looking for the old Wagoneer script myself. I couldn't find any like that. However I found that '73 Wagoneers had a neat script on the tailgate. I've found two so far and plan to use them on my '80.
Not sure how to post a pic, so here's a link to some pics of the emblems http://www.geocities.com/bentpushrods/Bentpushrods.html

smile.gif Guess I need to read the threads a bit closer. Porkchop's link shows the same wag emblem that I linked to.
Sorry about that.

I know a guy who has old Jeep scripts for sale. Call Jim Ferguson, the parts manager at Castrucci Jeep in Cincinnati, (513) 385-1010. He sells old AMC/Jeep parts as a side business.

Jeepbob,
Which one do you have (the first one or the second) and what's your price?

Joe,
The backup lights look suspiously like the Frt turn signals on pre 76 CJ's. I have a buddy with a 58 CJ5 and the appear to be identical except that the back up light only uses a single element bulb. If you get a set of turn signals then you could get a socket repair kit for a single element bulb or just wire up one element.
Newbie,
The trim is like the one you posted and I did send you an e-mail.

I'll check into that Bob, thanks. I've got a set of NOS glass lenses for them and my first thought was they look really close to the stock turn sigs on a Willys pickup I had. I did see a pic on Bob B's site of the rear of an early Wag w/BU's but couldn't really tell for sure but they may well be the same unit's as a Willys/CJ turn sig.

Okay this isn't "original" or anything. But I picked two up at hotrodgraphics.com. They've got other neat jeep decals...

Also got a 4x4xMOM decal for my wife's jeep. :D
