HOOT

Not quite the Great Lakes Region but Midwest was left out.
OK here's the deal; I have no wheeling other than my yard 1 1/2 acres of manicured greenery. But the town throws a 3 day party in the park and it happens to join my backyard. :D
We are located right off I-71 between Louisville,KY and Cincinnati, OH. Indiana is right out back, so cross at the Markland Dam.
Live music every evening, Corn hole during the day ( they have no shame), and fun stuff for the kiddies provided free by Inflatible Fun Factory.
Parade on Saturday the 4th
Lots of local eats and treats. The foods not bad either.
Fire works will be on July 3rd. My backyard is ground zero. Great show for a small town.
Belterra Casino will shoot their fireworks off July 4th. 2 miles downstream on the horizon. The distance makes for the sounds to be delayed. Drink more beer and you'll neer notice. Great places down closer to there for viewing if need be.
Bring your boat, jet ski, camper, tent, wife and girlfriend. There is a boat launch and dock in the park 300 ft. from my yard.
I prefer no pets unless they are very well behaved. The fireworks explosions are deafining and we have sent dogs into hysterics before.
Ear plugs are recommended for the little ones. The fireworks will literaly be exploding directly above you. Best viewing is laying down.
Bring your own food and beverages of choice. I'll have something to cook on. I don't buy alcohol for group events anymore.
Alcohol in the park is a major NO NO. Alcohol at HOOT's is tolerated until you get stupid at which point we "waterboard" you at the river.
I have a ton of wood for the bonfire.
Plenty of stores within a mile and closer for supplies if needed.
The parks playground is 100 ft. from my backyard. I can hitch the trailer up to the tractor for kiddie or parent hayrides as well.
Plenty of solid flat well drained backyard land for camping and partying. They prefer the tents be taken down before the fireworks show. We defy this advice usually and add another tent with morning sky lights every year.
Come hang out for a day or more if you choose. We can even do some wrenching if wanted but would rather do some gettin-togethering.
My house is a wreck and under alot of construction but showers for anyone camping should be available still.
Definite confirmations are not needed. I would like to know if you are coming but don't feel obligated. If you can make it then please come if not maybe next time. If you are coming on the 3rd you want to get to my house before 6 or 7 pm to be able to drive around to my backyard easily. The city closes the road down back that goes to the park, for the fireworks and it is the best way into my backyard. There is always tons of parking out front.
The river is more like a lake here. The dam and locks are 3 miles down.
KY Speedway is 6.5 miles up the road. Sometime they have weekends where you can drive your truck onto the track for some laps. Or maybe someone will be testing that weekend and they have a free viewing stand for practice.
Belterra Casino and Resort is 2 miles downstream on the other side of the river(6 miles by car). They have nicer bathrooms than me:o . The buffet is killer also.
There is always the lock and dam where you can watch the huge barge tows go through. Nice little park area there as well and good viewing for Belterra's Fireworks.
So any takers?
