I'm picking up a new engine for my '67 J3000 tomorrow morning.
Here's a clue:

Any guesses?:D

You abducted the neighbors kids and harnesed them to the plow? Better get them some good cleats so they have some traction.

Or it's a rocket 350?

I thought about going with a 455, but I've decided on an Olds 350.
I have a '70 350 that I was going to use, but it hasn't run in about 15 years so I was going to have to go through it. I found a really nice '69 10.25:1 350 with a Holley dual plane intake, Edelbrock carb, new HEI dist, etc. For the price I couldn't pass it up, and it's less than a mile from my house!

My Dad was a powertrain engineer at Oldsmobile from '57 to '85, and I was born in Lansing, MI, so the Olds engine is a natural choice for me.

What do I win:D

Not a bad choice. Those Rocket 350's are nice motors. Not as good as the BUICK 350's OF COURSE:p

Those AMC 350's are the best though. At least that's what the guy behind the parts counter at the zone has told me.

They must be RARE!

So...what's going on with the 67? Just giving it a motor or are you going to go through everything?

Ha, you quoted me before I changed my smilie. I decided the tounge smile thing was better.

It's getting the Olds 350/TH400/Dana 20 combo, 3.73 J20 axles, J20 steering box, J20 brakes (including MC and booster), custom spring packs made up of stuff I've got lying around, small window cab, refurbed factory stakebed. I have a really nice pair of black buckets from a '76 Chero and a nice black J-truck bench and I haven't made up my mind which to use.
This is going to be my work truck and light(ish) wheeling truck. I hope to have it ready to drive to Ouray in 2010 (fingers crossed).:drivin:

Sorry Gambler, this was a 232/T-14 originally. Had it been a 327 I'd've kept it that way!
