I have read so much good advice on how to perform this upgrade that I am totally confused on what I need for my 88GW.

I ordered MSD new TFI coil #8227 and a MSD 6 box #6200 I also orderd the coil connector #8874(assuming this connects from the new coil to the new MSD6 box). Do I need the #8869 harness to go from the new MSD6 box to the distributor? Also what do the directions mean when they say I will have to cut the coil wire from the harness. Does this apply with the one or two new harneses I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I may be able to cancel or add to my summit order still today.

Chris, you only really need a coil connector pigtail, which you can find a parts store. When I did this same thing, I ended up not using the MSD harnesses because it left excess wire to deal with. So I just cut off the stock connectors at the right length and spliced them to the MSD.

Chris,
Check the MSD website and look at the wiring diagram for the Ford ignition - there are two ways to do it one uses the duraspark box to trigger the MSD box and the other uses the signal directly from the distributor. The MSD webpage is at

http://www.msdignition.com/

Look at the diagrams for the Ford Duraspark ignition.
