And by "one" I mean problem :cool:
I decided to ditch the new car and throw some $$ at the jeep to keep it reliable: In that vein I skipped out on the second job (had to work late at the first one anyway) and fixed the alternator so it would actually charge to more than 8V. Borrowed the impact wrench from work, put the double pulley on the alt (new alt came with a single pulley... Did not work well but I did not have an impact wrench to change over to the old pulley) and fired her up: Success... 12V and climbing!
Also: New radiator cap seems to have solved the problem of my jeep overheating to 260 and spaying coolant everywhere after 30 seconds of driving... Actually seems to be running pretty cool but I still think I need a headgasket.
