Ok, I pulled my fenders, inner fenders, hood and cleared off the firewall tonight so I can try to pretty things up in that area.Question is,any of you folks painted your engine comp. a different color than the rest of your jeep?I'm just thinking of good old black, but i just am having trouble picturing it in my head.
a couple of pics would be awsome if anybody has some to post.

Well, just my 2 cents.... I just had my engine bay empty and decided to paint it a nice tan color. It's very close to the color of the interior but the MOST important thing is that it REALLY lightens up that black hole where the engine lives. It's a lot easier to see things in there and if I am ever leaking any oil or other engine blood it should be a heck of a lot easier to spot and find where it's coming from. And it ended up looking pretty good too! smile.gif

I have a two tone paint job. Dirt on the passenger side and power steering fluid on the driver's side with more dirt added for texture. A true Jeep paint job.
i chose red so that the engine bay is lighter and i can see leaks easier as well.

sounds and looks pretty good. Did you guys just use rattle cans or paint with a sprayer?

I used Duplicolor Truck Bed Lining (rattle can) for a textured satin black. Did rebuilt 360 in navy blue, and virtually everything else flat black. The bed liner has held up great except against 1 drop of brake fluid - came right off.

I did / am in process of doing the whole engine bay in POR-15 gloss black. I have about 75% done and it looks good. The truck is getting painted yellow, so the black looks alot better than the existing bronze!
