These are for an XJ and I cut to fit. They are very close. the rear ones are 2 piece. I'll have better pics when I have time to put a page together. very $$$$. $344 from Summit.

Could be a better replacement for those of us with rusty WT flares

WOW! Nice Rig!
Did you swap in a set of WT axles or do those large tires just fill up those Bushwacked fender wells?

Trimming required? Or would they fit WT openings (minus flares of course)?
Great job; the look goes with the truck for sure.

Very nice!
Would love some close ups of the rear especially.
What size tires you running?
Heimeken
11-26-2002, 01:43 PM
I'm running 35" tires on WT axles, that is why they fill up those flares pretty good. I have 9 inches of lift and I still rubbed tires on extreme situations, this should fix that. I cut approximately 2" of fender all around.
The part number is 10911-07. There might a more appropriate set that are not two pieces in the rear for those with Cheros. These set mounts partially on the door, but I assume it would look ok either way.
Thanks for the thumbs up, I really took a dive into this one hoping I could make it work. There's just not that many options for those of us with Wagoneers and big tires. This suits me well smile.gif
I'll have some detailed pictures up in a day or two.

The fit looks great. Though I must admit, I liked the NT "tractor" with the WT axles hanging out the sides!

Looking very good, almost like they were made for FSJ's

I wonder if they'll fit on the 2-door.
we don't need the split flares in the back for the door opening. I hope the make a set for the 2-door XJ's. Sundowner want. :D

funny u should mention that bob. When I fueled up at Durango on the way back from Ouray. I went back there to see what was rattling. The tailpipes were dangling all over the place. Seems I lost the brackets one of those days, that's why they were so "flexy" smile.gif
Good to hear from you Bob.

Don I have it down in my calendar, I'm planning to be there. Who knows what I will have worked up on the wag by then smile.gif
guzzi, I carefully measured and compared my wheel wells with my niece's XJ. I ordered them from Summit cuz they're real good about taking stuff back that doesn't fit. It was risky. I'm so glad they worked and I certainly hope it catches on. Gives the wag a more up-to-date look, and I really needed the clearence.

I read up on the flares and they do offer a set for the 2 door XJ. One of the things I liked the best was that there is no need to treat the flares before painting, except to scuff and then shoot. They do look good, and it's nice to see that the contour differences aren't that great. I imagine cutting off my old ventilated WT flares would be all the cutting I'd need to do ... thoughts?

Oh, I dont know why I forgot to mention this, but the other day when I was at Orscheln's(AKA Atwoods), I found some metal Jeep-Style trailer fenders. If cut and bent right, they could be used as fender flares. Just thought I would share that with you guys.

So what exactly would I have to buy for my N/T 2 door cherokee. Later on prolly about summer I want to buy W/T axles but would like to have these flares on my jeep before. Back before I got a FSJ I wanted a xj and always loved those flares. Since I dont have the 4 doors it would be alot easier right. Also what size tires can I fit on a N/T jeep with no lift. thanks

Sambo,
The mountains were great, thanks for the tips on the trails. We did Soldier Springs and that was a cool trail. I'll send you an e-mail.
Trailforus, on a previous post on this thread someone mentioned they found the same flares for the 2 door XJs (are they also XJs?). That would be the best for u I think. I think you can stuff 33 inch tires once you do the cutouts and install the flares but maybe 32s are safer if you plan to do some hard wheeling.
RamJetFSJ
12-03-2002, 05:26 AM
I would put these on in a second, if I wasnt so afraid my little 32s on NT axles would look stupid in that big wheel well. Time to find some full width axles!!!!!
