No, it will not. the internals are the same however the AMC version of the TF727 is in an AMC Case. The bell housing bolt patern will be different.

SORRY!!! WELCOME!! Larry. I am sure it has been done, no one that I know of has though. That is a very doable swap though. As is the Chevy swap is in the pre 80 rigs

there was a wag for sale here a couple years ago with a 440/727/208 smile.gif if youre gonna go thru the hassle of swapping in a different make motor,make it worth it with some cubes,IMO :D

I did a small block Chrysler swap in a 1978 J-10. Easy swap, no significant issues. Sold it a few years ago to a club memeber and I think he swapped in a Chevy small block after getting it.

i had a 83 wag with a mopar 360. much better engine than the amc 360 -**IMHO** :D
amc engine i got about 11 mpg. with the dodge i got 17 mpg.
