 Got Coils?
I would guess it is an early 70s model with the front brake drums.

Look how clean that frame is! If that was anywhere near here, you'd be hauling it away in a 5 gallon bucket by now.

Was that steering set up an early 70's thing?
I guess thats one way to compensate for Wag-Sag....

Could be, I guess. It had a razor grille and the newer style tail lights, though. I figured somebody replaced the front axle with an older one at some point.
I guess not with that steering though, huh. Must have updated the trim

Maybe a 74 Cherokee? Disks were optional in 74 and part of 75 I think. It has the vertical style tail light and not wrap around? The last year the razor was factory installed was 78 on trucks and Cherokees and 69/70 on Wags.

I'm not really sure, now. I probably looked at 30 different FSJs yesterday.

My '74 Cherokee has vertical lights and drum brakes w/open knuckles.
That looks like one to me. 258 mounts and 6cyl battery tray are just like mine as well.

The parts wag i picked up over the winter had the same coil spring deal going on, didnt help much.

So those coils are FACTORY? I've never seen anything like that before.

Doubt they are factory, I seem to recall a thread or two before with us finding coil/spring combos. Either some aftermarket thing or..shadetree ingenuity..sorta poorman's coilover shocks (which are partially loadbearing).

My 74 wag has open knuckles and disc brakes.

Tha Wagoneer problably had a plow on it at some point. It's pretty common to find coil helpers on Wags with plows around here.. Both my 68 Wag. and my 63 Wag. where former plow trucks and had coils like that. Just not so heavy duty.
My 63 2 door has some funky looking coil helpers or whatever on it.
you sure that's an 80 ish. Disc brakes ona front were standard on the Wags from 74.(Cheros/trucks 76) Pumpkin appears to be on the wrong side too for an 80ish

No, you guys are probably right... I must have been confusing it with one of the others I looked at. Probably the one that did have a plow mount on it but no coil springs. Next time I'll get more pics and half this site will probably have the lot picked clean in a month.
