I went to the junkyard yesterday and found a few FSJ there here are a few pictures of them. I am going back on Saturday to get the grill guard and grill from the cherokee, and the dual shock mounts. From what I remember they are a 1981 Cherokee Laredo, 1978 J truck, 1965 wagoneer, and not sure on the other wagoneer.

if the yard gives a good price, you should grab both those grilles, that chrome pushguard, Wt fenders. While the shock mounts look interesting, I don't think it's a great idea to run them staggered like that.

You can't really tell from the picture but the shocks are also staggered the same on the bottom mount. I will try to get the hood bar for you. That being said if they are still there. Its one of them yards that rotates it stock often he says they crush them every sixty days not sure how it works cause then I asked him how long the cherokee was out there and he couldn't answer me.:banghead: He said for the grill and grill guard it would be around $35. bucks though.
I haven't looked at old wagoneers and thought it was strange for the 1965 to be a two door when the body looked like it was made to be a four door:confused:

 $35 for that, thats an awesome deal, this makes me want to go to the jy to see what i can find, all ive ever found in fsj's so far was an 87 wagoneer that looked clean but was rusted out, took a few parts from it, and a 60's one that jus needed to be put out of its misery, had marine carpet carboard headliner and painted with a paintbrush

I don't think I have ever seen such a thing. I initially thought it was photo trickery..
The body on the WT looks really straight!
I would love to have the chrome side trim on that 4-door if it is in great shape. Not sure what shipping across country would turn into though..

$35 for a chrome muscle grill and guard??!! I'd be spending an entire day there and coming home with as much as I could. That widetrack Cherokee looks nice enough to bring home as is. It's pretty sad when there are vehicles sitting in junkyards that are in better shape then what's in some peoples garages.

That dual shock mount looks home made. A modified factory piece.

Can we altogether say, RHINO GRILLE. If it's in any shape at all, $35 bucks is CRAZY cheap.
Also, is the '65 PS equipped? If so, I'm interested in the whole setup, if it's a 230.

Oh yes, 2D Waggy's were produced from '63 through '68.

WOW, what a find!! It's too bad they're gonna be crushed, some of them look like they really don't belong there!! I'd be grabbing every clean part I could possibly get my hands on...ESPECIALLY that grille-

It sure bothers me to see those straight rustfree units in a junkyard. I see FSJs for sale for $1000 that look a LOT worse.

Nice sheet metal! But the staggered shock mounts are designed to have the front one lower on the axle as well as the tower so they should be lined up fairly well for a 4WD Rambler.

When I go back I will try to get the little stuff that was asked. I hate to see them crushed to but this yard moves a lot of volume and there turn over rate is crazy.

I would be interested in that steering wheel off of that 65 Wagoneer. It looks white in the picture and pretty much crack free? Let me know because mine is all cracked up.

Hi There from (overly) Sunny Central California! That two door Waggy  really needs to give up those early tail light bezels! PM me with the details if you can snag them, Please! Our local wrecking yard might have one or two FSJs but never that old.

I just got back from the junkyard and got the grill guard and grill:D from the cherokee I gave the front shock mounts a better look and passed on them though. On the 65 Wagoneer the front and top of the motor were completely gone already. I tried to get the steering wheel off but guess I needed a puller or something I couldn't get it to budge  I did find a spare tire holder for the inside of the Wagoneer that I snagged if someone is interested. I will try to go back in a month to see if there is anything new there.
Look in the picture facing the orange wagoneer (posted by fulsizjeep) by the roof: there is yet another gold-looking wagoneer in the background! I like the FC, too.
On the 2 door waggy, it looks like the windows where the door would be still roll down... Cool!

What style is the inside tire carrier, can you get a pic of it?

Pardon the question. But that orange waggy with the two doors. Were they built that way or did some one do a great job of welding the door seams?

Yes, as I said on the first page, they were produced from '63 to '68. Although, they weren't very popular. But the Cherokee six years later went over wildly. Go figure? Strangely enough, they also had a four door Cherokee.

The tire carrier is made by Trailblazer a company that put in a aux fuel tank where the spare is under the back it still has their sticker on it, they are(where) out of Boise, Idaho.
The 65 I believe was built that was kinda like the old three door suburbans I guess.

Hey Dan,
If you go back up there could you try to get that steering wheel again. There is a nut under the horn button. Just pop the horn button off and use a socket (cant remember size: maybe 13/16) then the wheel if you pull hard and twist it should come. I know mine was hard to get the first time. Was the condition of the steering wheel pretty good? Thanks again for your effort. We just don't have many left in our area.
Thanks,
Bob

I ended up getting the nut off having the steering system dismantled the wheel would spin freely. If I get a chance I will try again though for you.

well called the 2 numbers that dan1488 provided and the 208 number has been disconnected and the 1-800 number refers u to another 800 number which is a nationwide talk line. Looked on msn on the birds eye satellite at the address provided and it is a good size building with a few vehicles on the property. Will probably write a letter to that address. Anybody from the Boise area willing to take a trip to that address?
