my 76 wagoneer has a 2150 and i dies EVERY time you step on the gas pedal weather or not it is warmed up or if the choke is open or closed
what the hell is wrong with it.

sounds like the accelerator pump, it is the little diaphram on the front of the carb. Has a linkage from the throttle linkage on the driverside to the front of the carb. there is a little piston that is suppose to move in and out w/ every push of the pedal. if you look at it you will see what I mean. if you gently step on the gas does it increase rpm(and I mean GENTLE/slowly)if so then it sounds like your accelerator pump isn't functioning properly. If it still dies when showing it alil finese then it could be alot of differnt things, everything from a bad fuel filter to clogged line to bad fuel pump to messed up ignition timeing, or a carb that just needs to be built. Hope this helps alil CRaig(if anything I said doesn't fix it then I am sure someone will be along who can better help you)

i replaced the accelerator pump dia fram and it did not seem to help but that does not mean that it is working properly. it still seems a littly sticky

Then it's probably the accelerator-pump arm sticking on the throttle-shaft. Corrosion builds up in there, and the spring is not strong enough to make it move instantly, which results in a little bog. Solution is to clean out that area it rides on with some PB-Blaster then some brake-cleaner, then a light oil-based spray lubricant.
