Rear Quarter Glass Seal/Channel

Where on earth can you get them? Both of my rear fixed windows leak, one not so bad but the other like a faucet. Someone said you have to buy the whole glass assembly from the dealer to get it? Please, I'm looking for ideas- surely other people need these things, too, don't they? I don't want the interior to rust away before the exterior!:(

Also, does anyone have a rust remover that they'd like to reccomend? There are a few rust spots that I'll have to attend to... and probably some more under those darn seals!:mad:

to my knowledge, those boots don't exist other than used. You'll have to remove the window and the boot, fix the rust, then reinstall the boot with silicon on both sides to keep the water out.

I am curious where you see the leaks at?

As far as I know, ours don't leak - but hey, that is probably a figment... ;)
I replaced the right window and seal on my 88 last year. Rust was not an issue, a tree branch was - which ripped the original seal. I used light smear of silicone grease on the 75 window/seal which made it pretty easy to fit. There was no evidence of sealant used on either window/seal when they were pulled.

Thank you. Ready for a total noob question? When you say silicone sealant, I'm assuming you mean in between the metal and the rubber, right? Should I put anything in between the glass and the rubber? The leak appears to be from the back corner (most angled).

Again, does anyone have any rust removers they'd like to reccommend?

When I restomoded my baby CJ, I used Rust X, its what they use on oil rig platforms in the sea. Just clean it and paint the stuff on. Worked really well for my ap. http://www.rustx.com/industry1.html

There are many different types of rust removers. Do a search here. Pickelex and Ospho are recommended by some.
