View Full Version : WT Fender caulking HELP..........

Hello everyone,

I am repainting my 81' WT and not quite sure about the caulk they use around the fenders etc.

any help would be great.....Like what kind and type they used from the factory,or what kind i should use for best results.....Any info is more than I have now....thanks

I'm not positive, but I think what the factory used is called body putty. You should be able to get it at just about any parts store, in the auto body section, or I know you can get it at JC Whitney.

Check your local phone book for an auto body supply store. Many times they also sell welders and supplies, patch metal, paint, sand paper, etc.

I just repaired one of my fenders. I used seam sealer. It comes in a caulk tube. Got it at Autozone.

I checked around myself and I came up with something called "auto body sealer" and it comes in a tube.....It's about the only thing that sounded like the stuff I "should" use anyone have a brand name or is thie stuff OK?...thanks for all the help!!!
