69 j-2000 axle shaft

I have been trying to find an axle for my J-2000.I need a 19 spline.I found a 20 spline(I had never heard of this).I was told that this should work if I also change the carrier gear,too.Does anyone know if this will work or how much of a pain it is to do.

Which year is the J-2000 and what rear axle do you have? D44, D53, D60, D60-2? If it's the D54 or D60-2(both are semi-floaters) good luck cause new parts are made of unobtainium so you're stuck with a donor from a boneyard etc :(

Opps...just saw the model year in your post. A 69 J-2000 will either have the D44 or D53 rear axle.

Mine is D-44.I am having a hard time finding parts and I am getting desperate.
