Help,

I have had all you joints replaced on both driveshafts. If I am driving between 40 and 50 MPH I get a thunking sound from underneath. The sound sometime continues upon stopping, the sound always disappears when I out her in neutral. How can I tell if it is the tranny/ flexplate of the QT unit ?

OK thats a tuff one. Try driving with the floor panel off with a buddy who can drive while you look for the mystery noises.

I may be mistaken, but if this noise is occurring at times when you are actually stopped, it should be something other than the T-Case, since there would be nothing moving inside while the vehicle is stopped.

Thanks Ralph,

It does occur sometimes right after the car has stopped, I then go to neutral and the noice stops.

Could it be end play in the crankshaft, or a bad Harmonic Balancer ?

Does anyone know how to check for a bad balancer ?

Thanks again all
