I may have found a good 401 block and my question is what is interchangeable between the 360 and 401? I'm in the process of rebuilding my 360 so I am getting new pistons, bearings and all that my main questions are with the crank and connecting rods. My next question is what type of horsepower difference would I be looking at between the two engines?

Everything is interchangable except block, crank, rods, pistons, harmonic balancer and flywhel/flexplate.

Depending on where it is from and what you are putting it in you might need to do a couple of things.
Make sure to get a Harmonic Balancer with the same number of bolts (3 or 4) as what you are swapping into (if you plan on using the same accessories).
If you are putting it into a driver side drop front axle, grab the oil pan from whatever it is you have in the jeep now. The driver side pans had a special dent put in them to allow for the reroute of the exhaust. This assumes you have a stock exhaust....
I had to drill out the exhaust manifolds to allow for the larger bolts. THe 360 used a combo of two size bolts (I forget the size) but the 401 I had used all the same larger size. THis wasn't a big deal but it's good to get figured out BEFORE you start to put them on...
